In keeping with the standard set by previous generations of 3M™ Speedglas™ Welding Helmets, the Speedglas™ G5-03 Welding Helmet Series has arrived with exciting new-to-world technology in tow.
This time, the new fixed front G5-03 welding helmet delivers a never-before-seen TAP function, designed to enable welders to seamlessly transition between weld, grind, and cut modes without needing to remove the helmet and compromise their protection.
Easy switching is just a TAP away
Built into the G5-03VC and G5-03TW welding lenses*, the TAP function can help to improve productivity with button-less control. Even when wearing gloves, welders can switch quickly between modes by following these simple steps:
1: Use the interface on the lens to activate TAP mode, by moving the shade to either ‘GRIND’ or ‘CUT’ within the TAP box. Then, simply press the plus and minus buttons at the same time to activate TAP technology.
2: Once set-up is completed, tap three times anywhere on the welding helmet, to bounce back to your pre-selected dark shade for welding applications.
3: The welding lens will switch to the desired setting.
4: Tap three times again, and the lens switches back to grind/cut mode.
This TAP function is robust and intuitive, and can be deactivated if needed.
