The 3M Speedglas G5-01VC Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet Upgrade Kit allows existing 3M Adflo Welding PAPR users to economically upgrade their welding helmet to new Speedglas G5-01 technology. The Speedglas G5-01VC upgrade kit includes the Speedglas G5-01 flip up helmet with the new G5-01VC TrueView / Variable Colour auto darkening welding filter which connects to your existing Adflo respirator hose. The Speedglas G5-01 welding helmet has a removable flip up front which reveals a clear grinding visor beneath for seamless transition between welding and grinding. Speedglas True-View technology allows you to see your welds with more colour and contrast and new Variable Colour technology allows you to determine which colour tone provides the best viewing contrast for your welds. By upgrading to the new Speedglas G5-01VC head top you'll also benefit from air flow control, extra large clear visor, new G5-01 head harness, task light and extra protection options and an extra large welding lens!

3M and Apex Welding Safety Pty Ltd warrants that the Auto-Darkening Welding Lens (ADL) and the Adflo Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) will be free of defects in workmanship and materials for a period of three (3) years and two (2) years respectively from date of purchase. The warranty excludes failure resulting from improper use or modification of the ADL or respirator and factors beyond the control of AWS. Except where prohibited by law, AWS and 3M will not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from this 3M product, regardless of the legal theory asserted. In the case of a warranty claim, a copy of the receipt with date of purchase, along with a description of the fault must be enclosed. Protecting the Welder from Ozone – An Australian Scientific Study
Ozone (O3) is an extremely toxic gas that is generated when ultraviolet radiation produced by the welding arc reacts with oxygen, which can cause serious health issues to unprotected welders. The main objective of this study was to understand the levels of ozone that an unprotected welder may be exposed to across a variety of common welding processes and whether a Welding Helmet with a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) was an effective control in protecting the welder from exposure to ozone.
